WoW Paladin Weapons
The Paladin's equipment should boost certain stats depending on the Paladin's talent spec. The Retribution Paladin focuses on strength, stamina, hit- and crit-rating. A Protection Paladin will aim for equipment with stamina, defense-, hit-, block or parry-rating, while a Holy Paladin choses intellect, crit-rating, spellpower and mana regeneration. A Holy or Protection Paladin will use a one-handed weapon in his main hand while using a shield in his off-hand. The Holy Paladin will use a spellpower weapon and shield, while the Protection Paladin uses tanking equipment with stamina and defense.
Usable one-handed weapons for a Paladin are axes, swords and maces. A Retribution Paladin will wield two-handed weapons like polearms, two-handed axes, swords and maces, which dish out a lot more damage than their smaller counterparts. The two-handed weapons should have strength, stamina, hit- and crit-rating as their stats while having a weapons speed of 3.4 to 4.0 - the slower the better. Enchants on these weapons will even increase the Paladin's power. Socketed weapons enable the paladin to even further improve their damage or healing, making a successful raid more likely.
The Paladin is unable to dual wield two one-handed weapons, but the 2-handed damage makes up for that. Relic items, so called librams, improve certain abilities of the Paladin and are carried in the ranged weapon slot. There are librams for every spec.
